If you have ever uttered the phrase “I need a bookkeeper,” chances are you do not enjoy keeping the books for your own business or it is taking up too much of your time and energy. We get it, business owners are busy. We also know that you most likely do not have a degree in finance or accounting and did not start your business so that you could learn the ins and outs of the tax code. So what is a business owner to do when they find themselves thinking “I need a bookkeeper?” Contact the financial experts at Clem Collaborative! You can give us a call at 843.214.2742 or fill out this form to schedule a consultation.
At Clem Collaborative, we are not your ordinary bookkeepers. We take a holistic approach to bookkeeping and financial planning that allows us to get to know our clients on a more personal level. We look beyond the numbers on the page – whether it is your tax return or Profit and Loss Statement – to see what story those numbers are telling us and whether or not the results align with your goals. We work systematically through your financial documents using a precise and finely-honed methodology designed to ensure that no tax-savings opportunity is overlooked. As we continue to build our relationship and work together, we will help you identify legal and ethical strategies to reduce the amount of money you will need to pay in taxes – allowing you to keep more of your hard earned money.
On the most basic level, a bookkeeper will keep track of how much money is coming in and going out of your business and generate monthly reports . This allows you to see your net result – are you bringing in a profit or operating at a loss. The problem with this strategy, however, is it only tells you where you are right now not how you got there. When you don’t understand how or why your business got to where it is, you cannot understand the full picture of your financial health. If you read this and find yourself asking, “Why do I need a bookkeeper?” we are here to help.
The financial experts at Clem Collaborative fully believe in the benefits of hiring a bookkeeper, and not just because it is a service we provide. When you are able to make your money work for you and grow your wealth, you will have more money to spend and invest in the community. We value each client relationship and treat our clients like they are our only ones. We do not take a cookie cutter approach to our services. Our team takes the time to learn about your business and has the experience and knowledge necessary to know what strategies will get you closer to your goals.
Steven Clem, the founder, started his tax preparation business in college more than 20 years ago. Before starting The Clem Collaborative, he gathered experience at H&R Block first in the retail division, and later in their prestigious high net worth division where he worked with individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts. In his final few years with the company, he served as a Corporate Trainer, educating new hires in tax fundamentals and experienced tax professionals in more nuanced tax strategies.
Bill Lawitzke brings a wealth of knowledge that assists his clients and creates individual bookkeeping systems that work for them. With over 30 years of experience, he once led a team of accounting specialists for a nationwide tax firm, served as a comptroller of a local contracting firm, and an accounting manager for a start-up tax and resolution company.
